The Rally happened during a 50 to 100 year flood.[We called it Camp Mary Hell.] They opened the flood gates at Manhattan, Kansas 6 hours before we got there. What should have been a 8 hour trip took 13 hours.[From Eastern Arkansas.] Every east ,west road in central Kansas was under water. White City, Kansas was a trip to go through at night under water. I went on a 1974 Mark 2A Norton Commando.[Everybody called it a trailer queen, so I showed them! I can't believe the Lucas electrics held up.] The lights got so dim I couldn't see. 250 of the most hardcore motorcyclists on the planet showed up for this rally. Saturday night we had a tornado so close we could hear it.[ Is that a train? I don't remember crossing any train tracks coming in here!] And we would have had to get in a shelter that was waist deep in water! I remember trying to explain to some Europeans what a tornado was.[They understood Cyclone.] It wasn't as bad as the 2008 rally, but it was close. Filmed on VHS Pro by Mark Denny.
